Italy

Rome

Each year, Architecture and Interior DesignÌýstudents in their second-to-last year of study have the opportunity to spend a semester in Rome, theÌýEternal City, where theyÌýare immersed inÌýthe art, architecture and urban forms of Bernini, Zaha Hadid, Renzo Piano and more! Students alsoÌýengage in a service learning project. Past projects have included volunteering with Syrian refugees and documenting architectural relics for the Capitoline museum.

Northern Uganda

Prof. John Harris, Director of the OU Center for Peace and Development, regularly travels with studentsÌýto NorthernÌýUganda, where they support peace-buildingÌýefforts, including helping toÌýgive voice to local women and securing access to clean water. Past trips have allowed students to work alongsideÌýSister Rosemary Nyirumbe, one of Time Magazine’sÌý,Ìýand support her work in the Gulu community.
